Black Squirrel...

I was digging through some old photos that i have taken and i ran across a couple of this black squirrel that i took while i was in Texas. My grandfather fed it some pecans and it came up on the front porch on the house. i was able to get some very close up shots of it.

Fire Ball!!! BOOM!!!

Fire Ball!!! BOOM!!!, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I went with my friends to the shooting range today. They brought all their weapons with them and were ready to shoot some stuff up. I once again got to shoot most if not all of the guns and like last time, got to document all of this all the while trying to catch the elusive muzzle flash. It is much harder then one might think even with a fast camera, timing is EVERYTHING! After about 400 photos and 10 different guns, i hit PAY DIRT!! It was just perfect! Look at the flash!! A ball of FIRE out of his 1954 German made pistol shooting 7.62x25 cartridges. I got many photos with smoke and i saw many flashes but this is the ONLY fireball that was caught!! The range was way out in Goochland County north of I64 West. I have to thank my friends for all their time and letting me shoot with them, expecting nothing in return but my time and fun. They will be missed dearly when i move in another month...

The Sun Is Drawing...You Bumm Looker!

I was coming home from the shooting range this evening and i was driving down Old Hundred Road waiting to make the tun onto Watermill Parkway when i saw the sunset. I was amazed and i knew that i had to find somewhere to take a few photos. I sat a field that had a mound of dirt in it and i placed my Tacoma into 4x4 mode and i went to the top of the hill. I grabbed the camera and got onto my step bars and started shooting away! This photo as well as DSC04854, DSC04853, and DSC04850 were taken during this secession. I did not know at the time, but i was able to capture more of "The Sun ID Drawing" phenomena. I think that it really comes out well in the B/W photographs...

Butterfly Bush...

Butterfly Bush..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I have been waiting for this plant to bloom for all spring. My grandmother called it a Butterfly Bush. I am not exactly sure what it is called. I took this picture today during the early afternoon and it was really hot! I used Apature Priority to get the bloom in sharp focus and everything else blurry. It looks really cool on the rocks and stuff that is under it. I like how it turned out! I think that this technique is called Depth Of Field using the Apature.

I took this today in the front yard of my house. Some of the grass is going to seed and i laid in the yard to get this shot. I brought the grass into sharp focus by adjusting the apature and f/stop. I took it in HD Aspect Ratio to get more of the scene and in B/W for the color contrast.

FlickR Stuff

I have been trying to get more and more of my photos on Flickr placed on the Google map that is provided. So far, i have gotten most all of my St Thomas, Duke University, Epcot and Universal Studios placed. I also have various other photos on a map from different sets. Another example would be the Baltimore Harbor pics that i took with my LGVX 8600 Cam Phone. It is a neat option to be able to do that. Feel free to go and look at some of them.

Enjoy!

Sunday Morning Bike Ride...

Well folks we went to Pocahontas Park this morning at 7.45am and we hit the trails. We rode Lake View I,II,III. We have ridden I & II before but never III. It took off from Lake View II and it was really a GREAT trail to ride. It had many more turns and hills and was long. We decided to park inside the main park and not ride from Quala Lot as that would have added about 3+ miles to the ride. As it turned out, we rode about 14 miles this morning. I drank an entire pouch full of water! It was so hot and humid and there was not wind at all other then when we were riding our bikes. It was a fun ride but i have been really tired all day since i rode this morning.

Well, i need to get ready for sleep and work tomorrow...

How to use Firefox as Windows Explorer or File Manager?

Firefox
is the most commonly used browser among the bloggers and blog
followers. If you don’t like to clutter your windows experience by
opening lots of windows then you can use Firefox as Windows Explorer or
File Manager. As Firefox comes with tabbed interface, you can open all
the file locations in different tabs which otherwise would have come in
different windows.

So How to use Firefox as Windows Explorer or File Manager?

By default, Firefox can not be used as Windows Explorer. As Internet
Explorer can be used as Windows Explorer also, all that you have to do
is install the IE Tab plugin for your Firefox.

Firefox as Windows Explorer

(Windows XP Theme used in the image: Micorsoft Zune XP Black Theme)

Now, open an IE Tab in the Firefox and use the file extension
“file:///” followed by local drive to use Firefox as Windows Explorer
(For example, “file:///D:/Lyte%20Byte”). These file locations can also
be bookmarked like a regular webpage, so the next time all you have to
do is just click a link in Firefox to open up a folder in your computer.

If you are looking for a Windows Explorer with a tabbed interface, you can also use IE7 in Windows Vista or XP. Also checkout “How to get a tabbed Windows Explorer or File Manager?

I took this set today. They are located off our back deck. There are about 100+ blooms. They have been opening all this week and will continue well into next week. I hope that you enjoy them! The third in the set was taken in Blacka nd White. I thought that the contrast was really nice between the blooms and the other things in the yard.

Sunday Morning Bike Ride

We are going to go and ride Lake View 1,2,3 tomorrow morning. If we rode from Quala Road lot, it will be 18 miles. I think that we are going to park in the main park and cut out about 3 miles of the ride.  I will give some updates tomorrow after the ride.

Paul Van Dyk - The Other Side

I am so hung up on this track. I love the Dip Dish Remix clocking in at over 9 minutes. It reminds me of The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot. PVD had a good style on this track with the male vocals.I am just sorry that i was not able to purchase all the mixes of this track.

Seal - Don't Cry [OFFICIAL video]

This was almost the highlight of the concert that i saw at the Woodlands in Houston summer 1994. He did an extreamly long rendition of this song. I wish that he would release that version!

Seal - Future Love Paradise [OFFICIAL video]

Another song that i loved of his. I bought this album when i was in college at SFA(Nacogdoches Texas)summer of 1991.

Seal - Crazy [OFFICIAL video]

I saw him at the Woodlands in Houston Texas. I was totally blown away by him. He had Phil Hartnoll from Orbital as his keyboard player and it was an amazing show. I would really love to see him in concert again. Summer 1994

Information Society - What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)

This was the first concert that i ever went to in a club. Rhinestones in Beaumont Texas. I was 16 and i was wearing a Bomber Jacket that i purchased at a store at Parkdale Mall called Chess King...

Snow - Informer

WOW!! Club FX in Vinton Louisiana.

Snap! - The Power

I saw them at Rhinestones club in Beaumont Texas.

bg the prince of rap - this beat is hot

I always loved this track because of the KLF rift that is mixed into the song. The production was superb as was many tracks of this era.

Maxx - Getaway

Reminds me of the clubs i used to go to in South West Louisiana.

Mysterious Art - Requiem

While at the KOA, the girls went to the pool. It was freaking COLD!! I did not swim but they did. I was told that the pool was opened on the 22nd of May. It was too cold for me. The water was really clear and I thought that the photo was really neat with my shadow in the water. Notice the ripples in the water.
