A Cross...

A Cross..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

These were all taken at Arlington National Cemetery on my trip to Washington DC last weekend. Single Cross on a hill. I saw this lonely cross on the hill with the blue sky and wondered who he was and what he died for. What war was he in? How did he get such a big and profound gravestone?

Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1250)

Focal Length: 70 mm
ISO Speed: 400, 400

Gravestones in 16:9 Aspect.

Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia: Saturday May 10, 2008

I took this photo and i wanted to see what it looks like in color and B/W. I use the B/W for my desktop. I shot it in an 16:9 HD Aspect Ratio so you can get the total effect of the sky and land. even though they are not exactly the same position i hope that you get the essence of the photograph. The color photo was shot in "Vivid Mode" for high contrast between the gravestone and the land & Sky. I think that it worked well.

Arlington National Cemetery

This is a series of photographs i took in color and Black and White. This is an incredible large place to walk around it and a person could not see it all in a day. It has over 20 burials a day that happen there. If you ever get a chance to go there, I strongly recommend it. The feelings that it makes you have are strong.
