Emergence....
Lake Sam Rayburn taken with the Sony 18-70mm Lens in 16:9 Aspect Ratio off of RR255 facing Northwest.
It looks like a very big eye opening after a nap and hoping to see some bright skies...
This is the tail end of a cold front that came through our area yesterday. You can see the last remaining clouds separating the cool air that is on its way to our area and the warmer air being pushed south. As they say the front is blowing through our area and we will have clear skies with much cooler temperatures tomorrow...

Angelina River Sunset 1.2
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Sony 18-70mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
This photo reminds me of Fall. The brown plants and the orange Sun on the water and sky looks like cooler weather to me.
Angelina River Sunset 1.1
Black and White Photograph taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Sony 18-70mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
The deep tones were achieved by shooting in a Center -Weighted Average metering mode.
Angelina River Sunset 1.8
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Quantaray 70-300mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
Angelina River Sunset 1.7 is a companion to 1.8. I was able to achieve the deep tones and textures in Black and White using a Center-Weighted Average Metering mode for this photo as well. Also using a little Depth Of Field to get the focus on the plants and not the water.
Sunset & River Through Glass...
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Sony 18-70mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
I focused on the windshield of my truck to get this effect. You can see the littl specs of stuff on the glass. It is funny that the world does not look blurry like this photo. Our eyes are amazing things...
Angelina River Sunset 1.10
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Quantaray 70-300mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
I just love how the sun is reflecting on the water in this photo and how deep orange the sky is.
Angelina River Sunset 1.12
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Quantaray 70-300mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River in Black and White in Center-Weighted Metering Mode.
More fun using Depth Of Field to get the bushes in sharp focus and the river and sunset blurry. Amazing Sunset on the river this evening.
Angelina River Sunset 1.7
Taken below Lake Sam Rayburn Dam in 16:9 Aspect Ratio using the Quantaray 70-300mm Lens at the forks of The Angelina River.
Just a little fun using Depth of Field to achieve this effect while shooting in Center-Weighted Average Metering Mode to get the deep, dark tones.

Afternoon Pines 1.0
Taken using the Sony 18-70mm Lens and in 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
I am trying to convey the vastness of the Piny Woods here in South East Texas to my viewers. This area had many saw mills starting way back in the 1800s and some of them still continue today. This photo was taken in part of the Angelina National Forrest just South of Lake Rayburn.
I was out driving around down logging roads and had my camera for that purpose. You can see the ground vegetation is starting to make its color sift for the Fall Season. These woods look like they go on forever and some do. Where i was standing and looking to take this photo, i could not see any other trees. All of the old Hardwood had been cut out many years ago, perhaps at the tun of the century.
These trees have to be around 50 years old in this forrest where i stood to take this photo. It is hard to get the vastness from this photo, but it is an amazing site to see, standing in a forrest like this. All the colors and light coming through the trees and the shadows cast from the trees make a beautiful photo in my mind's eye. I only hope that you can appreciate them like i do...

Vacant Field...
Initial 5 photo set was taken with the Minolta 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens
As i was driving home on Millburn School Road today i saw a field that i have driven by many times. I looked and just happened to have my camera today so i got out and took several photos. I then decided to take a series going from left to right to make this panorama creation. To me, this photo symbolizes the Autumn is upon us.
I used my Minolta 35-105mm lens to take the initial series of photos. I could have cropped the photo to give it nice straight lines but i wanted for people to get the whole photo, not just a portion of it. So many photos that we look at are nice and neat, cropped to *perfection* and processed to the Nth degree. I wanted people to feel the rawness of this photo and also the beauty of it!

This is another Fall photo that i took yesterday. I love the tree in the left side of the photo that is blurry and out of focus. It has a Bokeh like effect with the settings that i used to take the leaves that are turning color. Fall is really in the air for use in the St Louis Metro Region.

Picture 446 crop
Original photo taken in March of 2008.
This was taken in its original form on my first trip to St Louis. I did a crop of the photo getting rid of the building that was located in the bottom of the photo, just leaving the reflection of the courthouse and a few other buildings. Here is a link to the original photo titled "Random Artistic Shots..."

I think that this was a very hard photo to take. The lighting was minimal with a spot shining on the object. Its colors are very neutral and not bright and the background is neutral as well.
All in all, i think that the a200 did a great job in representing this object given the conditions. The cam was in "Landscape" mode shooting in Aperture Priority with DRO+ on. I shot at f/9 to get a clear, sharp photograph with a good depth of field.
Give me some feedback on this one folks!!
