Here is the cropped photo of one bloom i shot yesterday. It has an amazing amount of detail and i cropped it from the Trumpet Vine 5 photograph. Look at the bottom left center and see the fuzz, also look at the veins on the inside illuminated from the sun. I always loved these as a child growing up in Texas.
Here is the original EXIF data from the photo:

Trumpet Vine...
I drive by the lake every day and love the Trumpet Vines and flowers that are blooming. I had time today and i stopped to get several photos of them. They were loaded with black ants getting nerctar from inside the blooms. If you look at the photos, you will see the ants.

Day Lilly
I did this Macro a few days ago. I was just having fun!! It was really hot that day but the flower looked very amazing in the bright day sun. I love the detail in the center of the bloom.

Morning Sunrise...
I took this on the way to St Louis. It was facing Northeast looking back over the Blue Ridge Mountains while driving South on Interstate 81/64. I took it at 7.26am that morning and i had to pull over off the road to get the shot. I had just bought the Sony a200 the week before and was trying to get used to how it operated. I love the orange color that i all over the sky with only a con trail from a long gone jet.

New Graffti...
Several months ago i did a post about a new neighborhood called RounTrey across the road from our home. They have a tunnel that goes under the road where you can safely walk and avoid traffic. We have ridden our bikes around this place. I went there to do some Black and White and Color photography and i was amazed by what i saw! To think that in this edition, there are $400K plus homes with this crap happening to their area. GRAFFTI!!! All over the walls of the walking path and garbage dumped where the road ends...

Feel The Power?
I was driving down Otterdale Road in Midlothian and i had my camera handy for an instant photo. I saw the power lines in a field with the clouds breaking around them so i got the shot. The towers really stand out against the sky in B/W and you can even see the power lines.

Black Squirrel...
I was digging through some old photos that i have taken and i ran across a couple of this black squirrel that i took while i was in Texas. My grandfather fed it some pecans and it came up on the front porch on the house. i was able to get some very close up shots of it.

Fire Ball!!! BOOM!!!
I went with my friends to the shooting range today. They brought all their weapons with them and were ready to shoot some stuff up. I once again got to shoot most if not all of the guns and like last time, got to document all of this all the while trying to catch the elusive muzzle flash. It is much harder then one might think even with a fast camera, timing is EVERYTHING! After about 400 photos and 10 different guns, i hit PAY DIRT!! It was just perfect! Look at the flash!! A ball of FIRE out of his 1954 German made pistol shooting 7.62x25 cartridges. I got many photos with smoke and i saw many flashes but this is the ONLY fireball that was caught!! The range was way out in Goochland County north of I64 West. I have to thank my friends for all their time and letting me shoot with them, expecting nothing in return but my time and fun. They will be missed dearly when i move in another month...

The Sun Is Drawing...You Bumm Looker!
I was coming home from the shooting range this evening and i was driving down Old Hundred Road waiting to make the tun onto Watermill Parkway when i saw the sunset. I was amazed and i knew that i had to find somewhere to take a few photos. I sat a field that had a mound of dirt in it and i placed my Tacoma into 4x4 mode and i went to the top of the hill. I grabbed the camera and got onto my step bars and started shooting away! This photo as well as DSC04854, DSC04853, and DSC04850 were taken during this secession. I did not know at the time, but i was able to capture more of "The Sun ID Drawing" phenomena. I think that it really comes out well in the B/W photographs...

Butterfly Bush...
I have been waiting for this plant to bloom for all spring. My grandmother called it a Butterfly Bush. I am not exactly sure what it is called. I took this picture today during the early afternoon and it was really hot! I used Apature Priority to get the bloom in sharp focus and everything else blurry. It looks really cool on the rocks and stuff that is under it. I like how it turned out! I think that this technique is called Depth Of Field using the Apature.

Sun Rays...
We went to the mall today and as we were driving home i made a comment on how the sun was coming through the clouds and how that would make a nice photo. When i got home, it was still occurring so i get my camera and took the shot in B/W where i hoped that it would show up better than in color and it did! I love the contrast that is in this picture.

Grass Seed Forest?
I took this today in the front yard of my house. Some of the grass is going to seed and i laid in the yard to get this shot. I brought the grass into sharp focus by adjusting the apature and f/stop. I took it in HD Aspect Ratio to get more of the scene and in B/W for the color contrast.

Camera Accessories...
For Father's Day, my Daughter got me the Case Logic 6'' Flexible Tripod that i wanted! It is just like the Gorilla Pod and it works the same for much less. I am very happy and it is really neat!

Korean Memorial at Night
I love the Korean War Memorial! It is my favorite on at night. I wish that i will have the time to go and take it with a tripod and get a good night photo. I don't know if that is going to happen. A Day at the Museum...
I took this when we went to the National Museum of Natural History in DC several weeks ago. I love the architecture and the domes in the evening light. It looks like the Grand Central Station that is located in DC as well. The way the shapes join and the colors are very earthly in shade.
