Dusk with Moon

Dusk with Moon, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Taken using a Sony 18-70mm Lens in 16:9 Aspect Ratio:

Facing Southwest, this photo was taken during the same shoot as Dusk After Storm on FMR 255 East. The deep tones in the sky and wisps of clouds over the tree line kind of bring into perspective the vastness of the sky. The sliver of Moon high in the sky is just a taste of it and what is to come...

Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 40 mm

I was driving home from school on FMR 255 East and saw a nice evening sky. I stopped my Tacoma on the side of the road on the South end or Lake Rayburn and walked over to the lake side and got on the wall to shoot this photo. A storm had come through the area and this is what remained of it. I love the deep earthy tones in the sky and the clouds to the right in the sky.

Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)

Focal Length: 40 mm

Saw this movie.

Went to Lufkin to go and watch '9' a film by Tim Burton. Strang movie.

Texas Longhorn 1.2

Texas Longhorn 1.2, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

HWY 63 East just out of Zavalla Texas. Taken with a Sony 18-70mm Lens.

WHile i was taking this set of photos, this Longhorn never would walk to the fence like the rest of them. He just hung close to the tree and did his thing. All the while, he did keep an eye on me...

The Spider, My Friend...

One night not long after i moved back to Texas i walked out the front porch and i saw this spider. He built a very large web on the West end to capture bugs and moths. I thought kool, he was not in the walking path and i was going to leave him alone.

I came back out the next morning and he was gone. I was like, what happened to him because i knew that i did not kill him. The next night i walked back to the porch and he was back in the same spot. I was like Cool!! I wonder where he goes during the day and also i wondered where he goes during the day. These photos were taken on 6.25.2009, it is now 9.19.2009 and he is still in the same spot, building and rebuilding each and every night.

Sometimes, i go outside and i will capture a few bugs and moth or two and throw them into the web and watch it go and eat! It is very interesting to me that we can live with some insects and not bother them. He is not hurting me nor me it and i intend to keep it that way...

Texas Longhorn 1.8

Texas Longhorn 1.8, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

HWY 63 East just out of Zavalla Texas. Taken with a Quantaray 70-300mm Lens.

A funny story while taking this set of photos; as i was shooting this longhorn, the others started looking at me and then the whole herd came running to the fence. I had my camera and they let em shoot as many photos as i wanted to. When i moved, they would follow me to a different part of the fence, if i moved back, they moved back. It was really funny!!

One of my favorite poses and photos of this guy. He was white and brown so i did a Black and White Photo of him and i also shot the photo in a 16:9 Aspect Ratio to get more of the background in it as well. He stuck around the longest of the bunch of Longhorns in this field.
