DSC00066

DSC00066, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

All were taken when i first bought the camera. These are photos of our old home.
I think that this is a neat perspective photo taken from the top of the stairs. The sun and shadows is very nice as well.

A Neat Little Project...

This lens is an enlarger. It states that The F4/40mm is for 24mm x 24mm neg. Componons are enlarging lenses.
DSC09465: Componon 1.4
I have had this little lens for over 10 years and i do not know whay i kept it. I did not have a DSLR camera back then.

I used a lens cap and made a hole through the center and placed it on the top of my 35-105 lens as a holder. It will also work on my 18-70mm lens as well.

From what i have learned, having the Componon on the end, you add +40mm to the Focal Length and +4 to the Aperture and F/Stop. It has a very good Bokeh and a very selective Depth Of Field when in used in conjunction with the other lenses.

Here are some of the photos taken with this Do It Yourself(DIY) Lens.
You get some distortion due to the different layers of glass in the lenses but for the most part
the photos turn out nice.

I love the Bokeh that this photo has. It is really interesting to use this set up as you are shooting in the blind so to speak. Really none of the focal and aperture settings are correct on the on the EXIF data because the camera does not know the other lens is on it. It has a very selective Depth Of Field with a very small in-focus area.

I took this Macro under my bedside Lamp. The bulb gives out a yellow color and that is why the silver bracelet looks almost bronze or brass, not silver like it is. I did not use a flash in this photo but still i used my Kango hat to lay it on. I was about 6-8 inches above the item.

I used a white sheet of paper as a diffuse for this photo. I placed the bracelet on my Kango Hat. It made for a very neat macro photo. I am amazed at how much magnification the little lens gives to the camera. I was about 6-8 inches from the bracelet when i took this photo.
