DSC05111

DSC05111, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I did a little DOF shot on this photo using the new lens with the UV Filter on it. This is a Butterfly Bush that is in my neighbor's yard. She was kind enough to let me have access to all of her flowers. I love the Bee in all of the set of photos.

I went over to a neighbor's yard because she is the only person that still have nice flowers blooming. I wanted to try out the new lens on the camera. WOW!! IS ALL I CAN SAY! The Macro function that operates between 180-300mm is AMAZING! I was standing about 2.5-3 feet away from this flower!! I was not expecting results like this. I am also using a UV Filter on the lens as well.

Sentencing scheduled for club owner

Richmond night club owner Samuel Moore was sentenced Thursday to 60 days in jail with no work release. Moore was taken away in handcuffs.

Sam Moore agreed to an alford plea earlier this month. That means he doesn't admit guilt but, agrees prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him.

Moore is accused of having sex with a minor and videotaping a sex act with an 18-year-old woman without her knowledge.

Commonwealth Attorney Michael Herring says now there will be a federal investigation regarding Sam Moore and his strip club in Shockoe Bottom, he says the club has many ABC violations.

Black Ants ( Trumpet 3 Crop)

Black Ants ( Trumpet Crop), originally uploaded by RMStringer.

This photo is Cropped from Trumpet Vine 3. I wanted to show all the black ants that were on these blooms. I see a little softness in the photo at the crop size, but i am really impressed with it at the same time. I do not understand why they were all over this unopened bloom.

Here is the Original EXIF Data:
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)

Single Trumpet Crop

Single Trumpet Crop, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Here is the cropped photo of one bloom i shot yesterday. It has an amazing amount of detail and i cropped it from the Trumpet Vine 5 photograph. Look at the bottom left center and see the fuzz, also look at the veins on the inside illuminated from the sun. I always loved these as a child growing up in Texas.

Here is the original EXIF data from the photo:
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 70 mm

Morning Sunrise...

Morning Sunrise..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I took this on the way to St Louis. It was facing Northeast looking back over the Blue Ridge Mountains while driving South on Interstate 81/64. I took it at 7.26am that morning and i had to pull over off the road to get the shot. I had just bought the Sony a200 the week before and was trying to get used to how it operated. I love the orange color that i all over the sky with only a con trail from a long gone jet.
