May 2008
I took this at Arlington National Cemetery on my trip to Washington DC last weekend. Single Cross on a hill. I saw this lonely cross on the hill with the blue sky and wondered who he was and what he died for.
What war was he in? How did he get such a big and profound gravestone? ? I thought that the black and white photo would bring out the texture. It also makes you wonder what it looked like in color. Death is not color; this photo is black and white. Death is not colorful, but kind of gray like this photo…

A Cross...
Three Crosses...
This was taken at Arlington National Cemetery on my trip to Washington DC last weekend. A Hill with 3 Crosses. Who were all of these people that made the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for our country?

I took all of these on the weekend trip to DC. It was on 5.10.2008 I thought that this was a very hard photo to take because of the great contrast between the light, dark, tombstones, and clouds. The grass and trees were all very green and had a stark contrast with the grave stones.
I don't know their names but only that they died for our country in some form or fashion during some war that was fought...
