Taken After a Rain in Late Evening on FMR 255 East.
Another in the SE Pine Tree set that i took today. I love the dead wood in the back of the photo with the mist and fog hovering above the ground as well. Looks like a rain forrest to me and not like SE Texas at all.

SE Texas Pines 1.4
Wet Road 1.1
Taken After a Rain in Late Evening on FMR 255 East.
I kept seeing the fog and mist at the top of the hill while i was taking some more Pine Tree photos and i thought that it would make a neat photo if it would come out correct. I stood in the middle of the road and took the photo. I did not use a flash on the photo. I guess the stripes are glowing from the sun being behind me.

Round Hay Bails
Taken in 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
I noticed this field on the north side of Zavalla Texas on HWY 69 North when i was going to school today. I drove by it on my way home and then did a U-Turn in the road and went back to get a few photos of the place. This is the best one that i like the most of the set. I like the serenity of the photo, the calm of the sky and the openness of it all.

SE Texas Pines 1.9
Taken in 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
Taken off the side of the road on HWY 63 East just 3-5 miles out of Zavalla Texas. I love the bright greens and colors in the trees. I tweaked some settings on my camera to get it to take a pic with this color range. I love the light in the tops of the trees from the setting sun.

Closed...
Initial photo taken on a Trip to Texas when i lived in Illinois.
Another photo of the old Pig Stand in Beaumont Texas. I bet this place was really fun to go to at night when it was open. It is from a bi gone era, like the tv show "Happy Days" A calm, more simpler time, something that we will never see again...
Here is a link to a color night photo of the pig stand.

Wednesday Evening Sunset 1.1
Wednesday Evening Sunset on Lake Sam Rayburn.
I was on my way home from class on Wednesday evening and i saw a great sunset close to the dam. I had my camera with me and have it with me most of the time when i travel now. I love the reflection on the water from the sun and clouds with the different deep tones.

Sexy Water Pose...
Rattlesnake Island: Labor Day 2009. Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas
She was with a group of girls that were playing for my camera on Saturday. She is super cute and sexy!! Too bad that i dont even know her name...
I was using the Quantaray 70-300mm Lens for this photo. I love the color and the sparkle of the water around her.

Light and Dark Trees...
"Center Weighted" Metering Mode using the Minolta 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens
I was driving East on FMR255 and looked over and saw some interesting lighting in the trees. I stopped and took out my cam and switched to B&W mode and took a series of shots of the trees with the light in the foreground. They really did not come out like i wanted them to. The contrast was not as great as i would have liked it to be.

A Distant Future Memory...
Through my photography i express myself. I am able to find my creative and artsy center and also my technological side. For me it is personal and i look at the world in a different way.
When people and my friends, close friends notice and make comments about my work, i get filled with emotion. Good emotions and more yearning to strive to make better photography. But i also get filled with a sadness from them as well.
All i wanted from om other half, when i had her, was for her to accept this new me and to realize the passion that i had from my creations. All i got was mocking and scorn or money comments. I just wanted her to say that i was a good photographer and that my work was good, not that it was good when she wanted and needed me to do a photo for her.
In that aspect, acceptance was what i wanted from her and that my photography, my art, my passion, could and did not have a price that she could hold in her hands. The boat on the lake that i so love and the God created sunset in the sky is a future that we could have had. A glimpse of a future that will not be for us to have for she could not see the beauty and art in my passion... Only the bottom dollar.

I was taking a series of Sunset photos while i was in the boat and waiting for it to be loaded. I was doing some color photos using the Minolta 35-105mm Lens and using a "Center Weighted Average" Metering Mode. I decided to go and switch to Black and White mode and was like WoW!! manic street preachers--if you tolerate this
What a powerful song!!
The future teaches you to be alone
The present to be afraid and cold
So if I can shoot rabbits
Then I can shoot fascists
Bullets for your brain today
But we'll forget it all again
Monuments put from pen to paper
Turns me into a gutless wonder
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Gravity keeps my head down
Or is it maybe shame
At being so young and being so vain
Holes in your head today
But I'm a pacifist
I've walked La Ramblas
But not with real intent
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
And on the street tonight an old man plays
With newspaper cuttings of his glory days
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

I can relate to this song and i always have been able to. "the song's about a guy living with a girl he doesn't love, same point from the girl, they're trying to work it out but things remain the same."

Busted and Cracked
Roger's Junkyard on HWY 96 North
I truly like this photo fro a number of reason. I love the glass and the different shades of color on it, the way the clouds are reflected at the bottom and the way the crack spreads out almost all over the entire photograph. I wonder what hit it and broke it this way? It is neat to look through the glass and see the binder clip to the far upper right of the photo.

We had a very big weather system just miss the lakes area last night. I was able to point my camera South West and get some AMAZING lightening shots like this. No cloud to ground stuff, just mainly in the clouds. It was a great show that i got to witness. Watching a vulgar display of power like this makes me feel very small...

Rust & Paint
Roger's Junkyard on HWY 96 North
Taken using the Minolta 35-105mm Lens. I love the rust and peeling paint with the different fading colors and textures. I just wonder how many years this truck was ran and was a useful piece of equipment. How much money did the owner pay for it and then make with it. Why did it end up in Jasper? This photo is from the old B-75 Mack Truck.

Dead City...
Shot at location around Beaumont Texas.
Shot in the intersection of Crockett and Orleans Streets in Downtown Beaumont Texas. I was in the street for about 20 minutes and never had to move my Tripod once due to traffic. This was a hard shot to get because of the street lighting.
The building to the left with red brick is the old Haunted Hotel. It used to be a very scary haunted house. What a shame to have moved it from the down town area.
