Confederate Rose 1.4

Confederate Rose 1.4, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Confederate rose (Hibiscus mutabilis)is known for its beautiful flowers that change color as they age. The flowers usually open white or pale pink and turn a darker pink to crimson as they age. They can have 3 distinct colors on the bush at the same time; usually white, pale pink and deep pink . Taken with the Quantaray 70-300mm Tele-Macro Lens.

Here we see all the elements that make a great photo! We have nice Bokeh, We have great colors from the sky and the blooms and great lighting to help it out. I really like this photo.

The bloom is a very pretty and delicate. The start out white and as the day progresses, they turn a deep pink color. The Bokeh in this photo is just amazing and the Quantaray does a very good job at it.

Pampas Grass 1.0

Pampas Grass 1.0, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Andean Pampas Grass: The silky, feathery plumes of pampas grass add a nice texture to the home landscape. The plant flowers for a long time in late summer and fall, then as a bonus the plumes can be cut and dried for use indoors.

The photo was taken with the Quantaray 70-300mm Tele-Macro lens. IT has amazing Bokeh and brings out the Fall colors in this photo well. The light and dark make this photo very nice.

I love how the light catches the lighter colors on this rose and reflectes it back. I think that i used a-1 on the flash brightness. This photo is very detailed as you can see the whiskers on the stem and the textures of the petals.

To me, this photo is almost perfect. I love the textures and shading on the rose/ I used the flash for this photo at a -2 setting where it would not be blown out. The background is all blurred out and it looks like it is ready for a print to be made or a card. The Black&White really made this rose look amazing.
