I took this today at the St Louis Zoo. All the animals were out today unlike when we came out at spring Break. I love the on the Giraffe and want to have it blown up as a big print. I am really glad that i bought the Quantaray Lens and i am just amazed at how it worked today.

Tree Reflection

This was taken after a rain storm.I am going to include this in my "The Rain Project" that i do from time to time. I thought that it was a good reflection of the pine tree in the water. I took this with my Sony H1 5.1Megapixel Cybershot DSC.

Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 6 mm

Down The Wall 1

Down The Wall 1, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

This photo, for some reason, reminds me of an old movie back in the 1970s called "The French Connection" at the end of the movie where the man is running through an open building somewhat like this.

Exposure: 0.2 sec (1/5)
Aperture: f/11.0

Old Buildings in B/W

You are looking at the intersection of 48 South and 481 West in Rural North Carolina. This intersection is about 3 miles from the KOA that we did “tent” camping at for Memorial Day Weekend. You are looking at a rundown General Store and I guess the old dilapidated home of the people that ran the store. I took this in B/W because it looks like a scene from years since forgotten by the hustle and bustle of today’s modern society. Where a general store was the hub of the little farming community and a meeting place for the locals; times were slower then and not as complicated as they are today.

Sunflower 1.4

I love how the center flower is in focus and all the rest are out of focus. The sun was hitting the center flower and it really brings out the color. I took this while i was driving around O'Fallon, IL yesterday.

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)

I was on the floor photographing her. I love the blurry background (Bokeh) behind her. The sun was shinning in through the big window on the stairs and hitting her. Shadows were dancing around because of the wind that was blowing outside. I am not sure what she is looking up at, but it gives a good side profile of her face.

Exposure: 0.067 sec (1/15)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 135 mm

Just Say No To Facebook!!

Just Say No To Facebook!!, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Facebook has unfair and cryptic policy practices. No communication with their users on violations of their cryptic policies. Just say no to their overloaded, cryptic network!! With “Customer Service” like they have, how can they expect to go public as a company and raise money? I say they can’t!! You can get Banned for no reason at all!! SCREW FACEBOOK!! Use Twitter!!

Hill 1

Hill 1, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I took all of these on the weekend trip to DC. It was on 5.10.2008 I loved the way that this hill looked with the clouds and sky. I think that it turned out very nicely in the format that i shot it in.

I don't know their names but only that they died for our country in some form of fashion during some war that was fought...

A Cross...

A Cross..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

May 2008
I took this at Arlington National Cemetery on my trip to Washington DC last weekend. Single Cross on a hill. I saw this lonely cross on the hill with the blue sky and wondered who he was and what he died for.

What war was he in? How did he get such a big and profound gravestone? ? I thought that the black and white photo would bring out the texture. It also makes you wonder what it looked like in color. Death is not color; this photo is black and white. Death is not colorful, but kind of gray like this photo…

Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 70 mm
ISO Speed: 400, 400
