Light and Dark...

Light and Dark..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

I took this photo after just two weeks of owning my Sony A200.

This was taken in the Historic Courthouse In St Louis. I thought that it was neat with the contrasting light and darkness as well as the staircase was wrought iron. It really made me think about the history behind the stairwell and i wondered who might have walked up and down it. This picture turned out much better than it should have considering that i only had the camera about 2 weeks at that point.

Clouds on Lake 1.4

Clouds on Lake 1.4, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Lake Sam Rayburn Texas, Cloudy with a chance of Rain. 16:9 Aspect Ratio taken with the Sony 18-70mm Lens.

Next in The lake series from today. This photo was taken shooting almost due North. Over on the right side of the photo, you can almost make out Rattlesnake Island and the Little Island as well. Again, this is a Full Color photo, not Monochromatic as it looks. It was also taken in 16:9 format.

Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 200

Lake Sam Rayburn Texas, Cloudy with a chance of Rain. 16:9 Aspect Ratio taken with the Sony 18-70mm Lens.

Driving home after class tonight i saw the lake look strange. This is a color photo but it looks Monochromatic, like a Black and White photo. The way i am looking is to the North West towards Lufkin Texas and the HWY 143 Bridge. I just thought that it was a neat look to be shot in 16:9 as well.

Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture: f/4.0

Sun On Water...

Sunset At Lake Sam Rayburn, Tx...

Taken off of the side of HWY255. I pulled my Tacoma over to the side of the road and put the flashers on and then stood on the cement wall to get this photo...

I used a Center Weighted Metering Mode to take this photo. That is why it looks all dark. It is a nice effect.

Exposure: 1/4000 sec
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 105 mm

I love the drops of water and the detail that this photo of a Rose Leaf has on it. The vignetting on this really helps frame it out.
