I was taking a series of Sunset photos while i was in the boat and waiting for it to be loaded. I was doing some color photos using the Minolta 35-105mm Lens and using a "Center Weighted Average" Metering Mode. I decided to go and switch to Black and White mode and was like WoW!! I love the textures and skyscape They photos have an HDR quality to them.

Cant Go Back To Sleep...

manic street preachers--if you tolerate this

What a powerful song!!
The future teaches you to be alone
The present to be afraid and cold
So if I can shoot rabbits
Then I can shoot fascists

Bullets for your brain today
But we'll forget it all again
Monuments put from pen to paper
Turns me into a gutless wonder

And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

Gravity keeps my head down
Or is it maybe shame
At being so young and being so vain

Holes in your head today
But I'm a pacifist
I've walked La Ramblas
But not with real intent

And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

And on the street tonight an old man plays
With newspaper cuttings of his glory days

And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

David Bowie - Thursdays child

I can relate to this song and i always have been able to. "the song's about a guy living with a girl he doesn't love, same point from the girl, they're trying to work it out but things remain the same."

Busted and Cracked

Busted and Cracked, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Roger's Junkyard on HWY 96 North

I truly like this photo fro a number of reason. I love the glass and the different shades of color on it, the way the clouds are reflected at the bottom and the way the crack spreads out almost all over the entire photograph. I wonder what hit it and broke it this way? It is neat to look through the glass and see the binder clip to the far upper right of the photo.

We had a very big weather system just miss the lakes area last night. I was able to point my camera South West and get some AMAZING lightening shots like this. No cloud to ground stuff, just mainly in the clouds. It was a great show that i got to witness. Watching a vulgar display of power like this makes me feel very small...

Rust & Paint

Rust & Paint, originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Roger's Junkyard on HWY 96 North

Taken using the Minolta 35-105mm Lens. I love the rust and peeling paint with the different fading colors and textures. I just wonder how many years this truck was ran and was a useful piece of equipment. How much money did the owner pay for it and then make with it. Why did it end up in Jasper? This photo is from the old B-75 Mack Truck.

Dead City...

Dead City..., originally uploaded by RMStringer.

Shot at location around Beaumont Texas.

Shot in the intersection of Crockett and Orleans Streets in Downtown Beaumont Texas. I was in the street for about 20 minutes and never had to move my Tripod once due to traffic. This was a hard shot to get because of the street lighting.

The building to the left with red brick is the old Haunted Hotel. It used to be a very scary haunted house. What a shame to have moved it from the down town area.
