Definitions of precipitation

I found this interesting due to the bad weather that we have been haveing across the USA.
Many know that i am avid weather person.

Rain: Falling drops of water larger than 0.02 inch in diameter. In forecasts, "rain" usually implies that the rain will fall steadily over a period of time. (See "showers" below).

Light rain: Falls at the rate of 0.10 inch or less an hour.

Moderate rain: Falls at the rate of 0.11 to 0.30 inch an hour.

Heavy rain: Falls at the rate of 0.30 inch an hour or more.

Drizzle: Falling drops of water smaller than 0.02 inch in diameter. They appear to float in air currents, but unlike fog, do fall to the ground.

Light drizzle: Drizzle with visibility of more than 5/8 of a mile.

Moderate drizzle: Drizzle with visibility from 5/16 to 5/8 of a mile.

Heavy drizzle: Drizzle with visibility of less than 5/16 of a mile.

Showers: Rain that falls intermittently over a small area. The rain from an individual shower can be heavy or light, but doesn't cover a large area or last more than an hour or so.

Snow: Falling ice composed of crystals in complex hexagonal forms. Snow forms mainly when water vapor turns directly to ice without going through the liquid stage, a process called sublimation.

Snowflakes: Aggregations of snow crystals.

Snow flurries: Light showers of snow that do not cover large areas and do not fall steadily for long periods of time.

Snow grains: Very small snow crystals. The ice equivalent of drizzle.

Snow pellets: White, opaque ice particles that form as ice crystals fall through cloud droplets that are below freezing but still liquid (supercooled). The cloud droplets freeze to the crystals forming a lumpy mass. Scientists call snow pellets "graupel." Such pellets falling from thunderstorms are often called "soft hail."

Sleet: Drops of rain or drizzle that freeze into ice as they fall. They are usually smaller than 0.30 inch in diameter. Official weather observations list sleet as "ice pellets." In some parts of the country "sleet" refers to a mixture of ice pellets and freezing rain.

Freezing rain or drizzle: Falling rain or drizzle that cools below 32°F, but does not turn to ice in the air. The water is "supercooled." When the drops hit anything they instantly turn into ice.
Ice storm: A storm with large amounts of freezing rain that coats trees, power lines and roadways with ice. Often the ice is heavy enough to pull down trees and power lines.

Hail: Falling ice in roughly round shapes at least 0.20 inch in diameter. Hail comes from thunderstorms and is larger than sleet. Hailstones form when upward moving air -- updrafts -- in a thunderstorm keep pieces of graupel from falling. Drops of supercooled water hit and freeze to the graupel, causing it to grow. When the balls of ice become too heavy for the updrafts to continue supporting them, they fall as hailstones. Sleet, in contrast, consists of raindrops that freeze on the way down.

Thunderstorm: A rain or snow shower in which there is lightning. Thunder is always caused by lightning. In general, the upward and downward winds, updrafts and downdrafts, in thunderstorms are more violent than those in ordinary showers.

Thundersnow: A thunderstorm with snow instead of rain falling on the ground.
Severe thunderstorm: A thunderstorm with winds of 57 mph or faster or hail more than 3/4 inch in diameter reaching the ground. Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes

Missing woman found dead behind bookcase

HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE???????????????????????????????????

November 25, 2006
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. --A woman's body was found wedged upside-down behind a bookcase in the home she shared with relatives who had spent nearly two weeks looking for her.

A spokesman for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Mariesa Weber's death was not suspicious. Family members said they believe she fell over as she tried to adjust the plug of a television behind the bookshelf.
Weber, 38, returned home Oct. 28 and greeted her mother, then wasn't seen again. Her family thought she had been kidnapped and contacted authorities. Family members scoured her room for clues but found nothing, though they did notice a strange smell.
On Nov. 9, Weber's sister went into her bedroom and looked behind a bookcase, where she saw the woman's foot. Using a flashlight the family saw Weber was wedged upside-down behind the unit.
"I'm sleeping in the same house as her for 11 days, looking for her," her mother, Connie Weber, told the St. Petersburg Times. "And she's right in the bedroom."
Both Weber and her sister had previously adjusted the television plug by standing on a bureau next to the shelf and leaning over the top. Her family believes Weber, who was 5-foot-3 and barely 100 pounds, may have fallen headfirst into the space.
"She's a little thing," her mother said. "And the bookcase is 6 feet tall and solid. And she couldn't get out."
The sheriff's office said Weber appeared to have died because she was unable to breathe in the position she was in.

Public Breast Feeding...

I welcome Comments to my BLOG.

I find this really disturbing. We were in Wal Mart the other week doing our shopping for our food and there was this man and woman with their kids, 3 walking and one sucking! They were just walking around the store doing their shopping and the mother had her breast hanging out and the baby was feeding on it. I mean, come on, in freaking Wal Mart!! How white trash or tree hugger can you get? it was probably the latter being in Virginia, but That is just horrific! I think that there is a time and a place(like HOME) or in the bathroom, but WALKING around the store for public display? I think there should be a law against this like public indecent or something. Go to the bathroom and do that. Most people do not change messy diapers in the middle of the store! Sucking on a bottle is OK, breast feeding, NOT OK! It is just as bad a sitting in the airport or mall for God's sake!! It is just WRONG!! Have a little modesty and regard for your fellow persons!! The picture is just a representation and not the actual person in Wal Mart.

Moutain Bike'n...

A friend and I went to Pocahontas State Park on Saturday morning and went moutain bike ridding. It was about 43 degrees and sunny. We did not go to Chippingham Park as it was in a bottom and with all the rain, we were afarid thatr it would be flooded out. It was a great Cardio Workout!!! We rode about 4-5 miles down the main trails and totally missed the single track hard stuff. We have planed another time to go and do that stuff. We were not really sure where it was either!~ I really want to get into this more. it is better for me health wise and great fun to boot.

The 'Evolution of Math Instruction' over the past half century.

Teaching Math in 1950:
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is

Richmond VA Drivers...

These people CAN NOT Dirve here!!!! It is freaking AMAZING!!! I have been driving to work for close to 4 months at this job and out of the 4 months, there has been a wreck on the Shaco Bottom bridge on IH64 east and west for 5 out of the 7 days of the week!!! It does not matter if it is raining, sunny, snowing, or what kind of weather we are having. There is ALWAYS A WRECK!! It reminds me of Austin and MOPAC 1 and the water testing that they did for an extended period by the Texas DOT. There was wrecks on that stretch or road every morning and afternoon and drivers knew about the water testing!!! Same Bat time, Same Bat channel every freaking day!! I contacted the Virginia DOT and i hope to post some stats on this soon. I will keep you informed.

If Operating Systems Were Beers ...

I saw this and thought tht it was funny.

DOS Beer: Requires you to use your own can opener, and requires you to read the directions carefully before opening the can. Originally only came in an 8-oz. can, but now comes in a 16-oz. can. However, the can is divided into 8 compartments of 2 oz. each, which have to be accessed separately. Soon to be discontinued, although a lot of people are going to keep drinking it after it's no longer available.

Mac Beer: At first, came only in a 16-oz can, but now comes in a 32-oz can. Considered by many to be a "light" beer. All the cans look identical. When you take one from the fridge, it opens itself. The ingredients list is not on the can. If you call to ask about the ingredients, you are told that "you don't need to know." A notice on the side reminds you to drag your empties to the trashcan.

Windows 3.1 Beer: The world's most popular. Comes in a 16-oz can that looks a lot like Mac Beer. Requires that you already own a DOS Beer. Claims that it allows you to drink several DOS Beers simultaneously, but in reality you can only drink a few of them, very slowly, especially slowly if you are drinking the Windows Beer at the same time. Sometimes, for apparently no reason, a can of Windows Beer will explode when you open it.

OS/2 Beer: Comes in a 32-oz can. Does allow you to drink several DOS Beers simultaneously. Allows you to drink Windows 3.1 Beer simultaneously too, but somewhat slower. Advertises that its cans won't explode when you open them, even if you shake them up. You never really see anyone drinking OS/2 Beer, but the manufacturer (International Beer Manufacturing) claims that 9 million six-packs have been sold.

Windows 95 Beer: The can looks a lot like Mac Beer's can, but tastes more like Windows 3.1 Beer. It comes in 32-oz. cans, but when you look inside, the cans only have 16 oz of beer in them. Most people will probably keep drinking Windows 3.1 eer until their friends try Windows 95 Beer and say they like it. The ingredients list, when you look at the small print, has some of the same ingredients that come in DOS beer, even though the manufacturer claims that this is an entirely new brew.

Windows NT Beer: Comes in 32-oz. cans, but you can only buy it by the truckload. This causes ost people to have to go out and buy bigger refrigerators. The can looks just like Windows 3.1 Beer, but the company promises to change the can to look just like Windows 95 Beer's - after Windows 95 beer starts shipping. Touted as an "industrial strength" beer, and suggested only for use in bars.

Unix Beer: Comes in several different brands, in cans ranging from 8 oz. to 64 oz. rinkers of Unix Beer display fierce brand loyalty, even though they claim that all the different brands taste almost identical. Sometimes the pop-tops break off when you try to open them, so you have to have your own can opener around for those occasions, in which case you either need a complete set of instructions or a friend who has been drinking Unix Beer for several years.

AmigaDOS Beer: The company has gone out of business, but their recipe has been picked up by some weird German company, so now this beer will be an import. This beer never really sold very well because the original manufacturer didn't understand marketing. Like Unix Beer, AmigaDOS Beer fans are an extremely loyal and loud group. It originally came in a 16-oz. can, but now comes in 32-oz. cans too. When this can was originally introduced, it appeared lashy and colorful, but the design hasn't changed much over the years, so it appears dated now. Critics of this beer claim that it is only meant for watching TV anyway.

VMS Beer: Requires minimal user interaction, except for popping the top and sipping. However cans have been known on occasion to explode, or contain extremely un-beer-like contents. Best drunk in high pressure development environments. When you call the manufacturer for the list of ingredients, you're told that it is proprietary and referred to an unknown listing in the manuals published by the FDA. Rumors are that this was once listed in the Physicians' Desk Reference as a tranquilizer, but no one can claim to have actually seen it.

Relatives...

Tomorrow, my sister-n-law, Sondra's sister and two children are moving in with us. They are coming from Texas to start a new life and make a new beginning here in Virginia. I hope that it works out for the best and that they find what they are looking for. I on the other hand, am picking up several shifts this month due to the lack of people working that are trained. It is Thanks Giving month...
I have also posted for several jobs with Qimonda that will be with the company and not a contractor like I am now. More to come as events occur on this. Just all wish me luck!! It would be nice to be an employee instead of a contractor. On the flip side for that, the old company that I worked for, Sun Control Systems, I am a contractor for them and I worked up in Culpepper at a project that I had been on before. It is nice as I can pick up some extra work from time to time.Well, I need to go and get some sleep.

It has been a hectic week for me. I worked at Qimonda Monday and Tuesday night and then went to Culpepper Virginia on Wednesday and worked with Sun Controll Systems for that evening and the next day. Then I came home and I am now at work in the FAB for the next 3 nights on my regular work schedule. The weather is crappy with lots of rain and people here in Richmond do not know how to drive in ANY kind of weather!!! Oh well, more l8terz.

The EU has some energy trouble as well...

I welcome Comments to my BLOG.
Im not saying that we are not as wasteful, but this is very interesting!! At lest we know that we are not the only ones that are wasteful!!

A poll of 5,000 Europeans by the Energy Saving Trust found the average Briton admitted to 32 bad habits such as leaving lights on in empty rooms, more than twice as many as the most energy conscious nation.
In interviews last month released for the start of Energy Efficiency Week today, Germans admitted to having 14 energy wasting habits, the Spanish 16, the French 19 and the Italians 25.
Britain's bad habits
* 71 per cent leave appliances on standby
* 67 per cent boil more water than needed in kettles
* 65 per cent leave chargers plugged in
* 63 per cent don't turn off lights in empty rooms
* 48 per cent use the car for short journeys
* 44 per cent wash clothes at 60F
* 32 per cent leave the engine running while the car is stationary
* 32 per cent use the tumble dryer when the washing line could be used
* 28 per cent have the central heating on in an empty house
* 22 per cent turn up the thermostat instead of reaching for a jumper

Television: The Hidden Picture

I welcome Comments to my BLOG.

This is a VERY interesting article...

Rixon Stewart

The old line about British television being the best in the world is a debateable one. What is beyond dispute though is the fact that Britons are a nation of TV addicts and with the advent of cable and satellite TV that trend is likely to continue. Whether or not that is a good thing is another matter entirely. For its influence could literally be described as deadening, as a growing amount of scientific evidence would seem to indicate. But don’t expect to hear that from the mainstream media, particularly television; there is simply too much at stake here, politically and economically, for what follows to become more widely known. According to Daniel Reid, writing in the Tao of Health Sex and Longevity, the rays from a TV flicker erratically, causing uneven and irregular stimulation of the retina. “This choppy stimulus is transferred directly into the brain via the optic nerve, which in turn irritates the hypothalamus.
In scientific experiments conducted in the US but ignored by both the government and the television industry, rats exposed to colour TV for six hours a day became hyperactive and extremely aggressive for about a week. Thereafter they suddenly became totally lethargic and stopped breeding entirely.” In effect their endocrine systems had been ‘burnt out;’ equally significant was the fact that during the experiment the TV screens were kept covered in thick black paper so that only the invisible rays came through. Thus the damage was done, not by the visible rays, but by the invisible radiation.
These findings were echoed by Dr H.D. Youmans of the U.S. Bureau of Radiological Health, quoted by Associated Press in 1970: “We found rays escaping from the vacuum tubes to be harder and of higher average energy than we expected. They penetrated the first few inches of the body as deeply as 100-kilowatt diagnostic X-rays. You get a uniform dose to the eyes, testes and bone marrow.” The same year Dr Robert Elder, director of the BRH, testified before Congress that even very minute doses of radiation, which fall below the legal limit cause damage and that the damage is cumulative.
In fact the evidence is beginning to mount to the point where it can no longer be ignored, unless you happen to watch a lot of TV, in which case you may not have noticed the results of a study by Sally Ward. One of Britain’s leading authority’s on children’s speech development, she completed a ten year study which showed that the background noise in the average two year olds day can delay his or her acquisition of a language by up to a year. Almost invariably the background noise came from television. Amongst other things she found that: · Children learn to speak from their parents and parents don’t play or talk enough with their children when the TV is on. ·
Background noise from TV or radio, confuses infants. In response they learn to ignore all noise and then they ignore speech. · Children of two years or older should not be exposed to more than two hours of TV a day. · Children of one year old or younger should not be exposed to television at all.. Sally Ward is currently preparing to focus on television and the way it affects our attention. In particular she will be looking at Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). “. . . a lot of people think it’s chemical,” she says, but in her view . . . “it’s very peculiar that at the onset of children’s television it got a lot more prevalent, and at the onset of children’s video’s it got a lot more prevalent.”
Her concern is being reiterated in America where child psychologist John Rosemond has stirred some controversy by suggesting that ADHD is environmentally created; a suggestion that is completely at odds with the pharmaceutical industry, which maintains that the disorder is genetically inherited and makes considerable profit as a result. “Ritalin may work, temporarily,” says Rosemond, “But pharmaceutical intervention won’t change behavioural and motivational problems.” And these he blames on television – “the endlessly changing images, flickering like the attention spans of ADHD children.”
Interestingly, Rosemond began questioning the role of TV after his own son began displaying symptoms of ADHD. In response he got rid of his television and within six weeks the boy’s behaviour was transformed. Today he is a commercial airline pilot, a job which requires some concentration. Still, there may well be a place for television in modern society: in our prisons. No seriously. At a time when its budget is being cut by over 15% you may ask why the prisons service is spending an estimated £5 million on television sets for a third of its inmates? Why? Well, according to David Roddan, general secretary of the prison governors association: “It’s the best control mechanism you can think of.”

Well, we got to go today after a failed attempt yesterday due to weather.  We had over 5.5 inches of rain since Thursday night!!!  My yard is looking GOOD!!!  The fair was good, but I did not think that it was as good as the South Texas State Fair in Beaumont or the Star of Texas Fair/Rodeo in Austin. I figured for a state fair, it should have been better and bigger. I start back on shift tomorrow night…

More l8ter.

The Constitution of the United States 2.0

I just saw this on a web article. I thought that some of yall might enjoy this...

The Constitution of the United States 2.0
By Devilstower 09/30/2006 10:06:13 PM EST

As there have lately been so many changes to the basic functioning of the United States -- a shift of powers here, a whittling away of rights there, it seems a good time to issue a revised version of the basic operating document. This is the real Republican Contract with America.
We the Republicans of the United States, in Order to prevent any challenge to our continued Supremacy, free ourselves from the Confines of Justice, placate the Tranquil masses, degrade the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of War Profiteering for ourselves and our Friends, do ordain and establish Constitution 2.0 for the United States of America.

ARTICLE ISection 1
All legislative Powers are hereby ceded to the Executive branch, though the Congress will still make a Grand Noise and wave their arms as if they give a Damn.

Section 2
The House of Representatives will consist of those best able to Lick the Boots of the Lobbyists and Corporations lining their pockets.
No one can be a Representative unless Fox News says that he is a Patriotic American,
Representation shall be apportioned based on numbers of people willing to Pay for the Privilege. The actual Enumeration shall be made whenever it is of benefit to Republicans.
Representatives will choose a Speaker and other Officers by how willing these Officers are to turn a blind eye to the Crimes of Republicans and how Loudly they will Declare the Daily Talking Points.

Section 3
The Senate shall... oh hell, just see Section 1.
The Vice President shall be President of the Senate and can use any Four Letter Word he wants in talking to Senators, so F-You, Leahy.

Section 4
Elections will be held whenever Diebold is prepared to provide the Right Results.

Section 5
Each House shall make a mockery of policing itself and shall be free to throw out all the Democrats they want, but Republicans who engage in Pederasty shall be protected.

Section 6
Republican Senators and Representatives will enjoy a Revolving Door of organizations who pay for votes, and give them jobs any time they are taking a break.

Section 7
The House and Senate shall apply a large Rubber Stamp to every suggestion issued by the President.

Section 8
The House shall raise all the taxes they want on the poor and middle-class so long as they leave the Rich alone.
The Congress will dodge all responsibility for decisions on War.

Section 9
The rules of Immigration shall be set in a way that protects Republican majorities.

Section 2
The President can wear any uniform he wants and pretend to fly planes.

Section 3
The President and the Congress should split some beers now and then, but he doesn't have to invite any Democrats.

Section 4
Having sex is a good Reason to get rid of a President. Lying, being Incompetent, Wasting Billions, and getting Thousands of Americans Killed, is fine.

ARTICLE III
This Article was full of that Judge stuff, so we just took it out.

ARTICLE IV
We can declare any place we want part of the United States so they can call their stuff "Made in the USA," but don't go thinking they get representation.

ARTICLE V
Amendments to the Constitution will only be for Really Important Stuff, like how scared we are of Homos and Foreign People.

ARTICLE VI
You can ignore any part of this Constitution if it gets in the way of Profit or something that gets Republicans elected.

ARTICLE VII
People are supposed to be afraid all the Time, otherwise they do too damn much Thinking.

..."On the night shift..."

Well my friends, I have come to the conclusion that I like working nights. it is less busy and you can do your work and not have to worry about all the political crap that is associated with the day shift. Although, my fate as it is seems to be undecided, on which shift I will ultimately end up on is not concluded; I can only hope that it will be for the best of me and the company. More later as details are disclosed.

Good night and good luck - Edward R. Murrow

Yard Work...

Well, it started over 2 weeks ago. I lowered my lawn mower and cut the crass very low to get it ready for the aerator that myself and 2 other neighbors were renting. Last weekend, we went and got the machine and I proceeded to aerator my lawn, WHAT A TASK in the front. The hill from hell was very tough!! On the flipside, the back and side yards were nothing. After I was through using the machine, my back was killing me!! I did not drop the seed and lime on the yard that day because of the chance of strong storms. I did not want the rain to wash all of my seeds off the lawn. I waited until today and proceeded to do it this morning, by afternoon, we had a cool front come through and it rained like crazy!! I hope that all my seeds did not was down the hill to the road. I will have to see if it happened...

I welcome Comments to my BLOG.

Disney or Dusmney?

I flip through the TV channels that we have on our TV and I stop sometimes and just wonder about the number of show that are directed at tweens and young teens. There are any number of them and in my opinion; they are very dumming and demeaning to me and everyone’s intelligence. I watched cartoons as a child and I sneak in one every so often, but I think that they were more straight forward about their content. Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows are very child like and have no substance, only fodder for kids to stay inside and be dummed by their talking down to and ridiculous content. I’ll admit that some have a few redeeming qualities, but most in my opinion, aren’t suitable for a 3 year old much less a 13-14 year old young person. They play 24-7 on those two channels. I personally take offense to they way that they portray young adults and tweens to the millions of viewers. My daughter loves to watch them and it bothers me that she is so wrapped up in them. What to do? Am I just too old to enjoy a tween show such as She’s So Raven with my daughter or am I on to something?

THE "LARK" PROGRAM

A Lady liberal wrote a lot of letters to the White House
complaining about the treatment of a captive insurgent
(terrorist) being held in Guantanamo Bay. She received
back the following reply:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, D.C. 20016

Dear Concerned Citizen,

Thank you for your recent letter roundly criticizing our
treatment of the Taliban and Al Quada detainees currently
being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Our administration takes these matters seriously and your
opinion was heard loud and clear here in Washington.

You'll be pleased to learn that, thanks to the concerns of
citizens like yourself, we are creating a new division of
the Terrorist Retraining Program, to be called the
"Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers" program, or
LARK for short.

In accordance with the guidelines of this new program, we
have decided to place one terrorist under your personal
care.

Your personal detainee has been selected and scheduled for
transportation under heavily armed guard to your residence
next Monday.

Ali Mohammed Ahmed bin Mahmud (you can just call him
Ahmed) is to be cared for pursuant to the standards you
personal ly demanded in your letter of complaint. It will
likely be necessary for you to hire some assistant
caretakers.

We will conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your
standards of care for Ahmed are commensurate with those
you so strongly recommended in your letter.

Although Ahmed is a sociopath and extremely violent, we
hope that your sensitivity to what you described as his
"attitudinal problem" will help him overcome these
character flaws.

Perhaps you are correct in describing these problems as
mere cultural differences. We understand that you plan to
offer counseling and home schooling.

Your adopted terrorist is extremely proficient in
hand-to-hand combat and can extinguish human life with
such simple items as a pencil or nail clippers. We advise
that you do not ask him to demonstrate these skills at
your next yoga group. He is also expert at making a wide
variety of explosive devices from common household
products, so you may wish to keep those items locked up,
unless (in your opinion) this might offend him.

Ahmed will not wish to interact with you or your daughters
(except sexually), since he views females as a subhuman
form of property. This is a particularly sensitive subject
for him and he has been known to show violent tendencies
around women who fail to comply with the new dress code
that he will recommend as more appropriate attire.

I'm sure you will come to enjoy the anonymity offered by
the burka -- over time.

Just remember that it is all part of "respecting his
culture and his religious beliefs" -- wasn't that how you
put it?

Thanks again for your letter. We truly appreciate it when
folks like you keep us informed of the proper way to do
our job. You take good care of Ahmed - and remember. we'll
be watching.

Good luck!
Cordially, your friend,
Don Rumsfeld

Stuff i work on.

All of these products are made by Muratech.
The first picture is a Stocker, the second picture is a LEM and the third picture is an OHT. we have to keep these systems up and running to keep the products going to the FAB tools. Time is money!! If our systems go down, we hold up production and when that happens, people get UPSET!! Well, I started overtime at lunch today and I will be on it all day tomorrow as well. I go on shift next week. I am excited about it as I will have days off during the week and also on the weekend. I really enjoy my job as I am learning lots of new stuff!

Well, I start shift work next week. They are placing me on Nights 1 and I will be training with a very good tech. I am going to like the shift work here as I will work Monday on days, then have Tuesday off and go to work on Wednesday night and Thursday night and have Friday thru Sunday off. Not a bad week.

I really enjoy my job so far and I will keep people up to date as things happen.

Clean Rooms, FABS, and ME...

Well, I have worked 3 days at Qimonda. When I first walked into the FAB, I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! I did not know what really to expect, but it was amazing. All of the chip making tools like Applied Materials, ASML, DNSE, just to name a few. The robots are all Murata as well as the LEM and OHT. The OHT takes wafers to the tools and the LEM only moves wafers from storage to storage. . IT is about 250,000 sq/ft of space. Very large. It is a 300mm chip wafer that comes out in inches, that is 12 inches; they also have a 200mm FAB that is 8 inches. It is said, that there are planes to build a 450mm FAB at that site, time will tell. I am getting to work on robots ad keep them running. I am learning their systems and procedures. I have to dress fully in a clean room suit. From head to toe. It is a class 10 facility and we can have no hair or skin showing. I have a picture of me in my suit that I am posting on the Blog as well. I am working only days now, but will go to shift work around the end of October. Or that is the plane at the moment. Well, more later.
